With voting from fans from all over the world, Europe’s football governing body UEFA have come out with their best XI (eleven). The voting took place on the official website of UEFA and three Barcelona players couldn’t be left out of it.
The European football governing body UEFA published the best eleven players on the first match of the Uefa Champions League. Following the excellent performance from the FC Barcelona team, UEFA selected Barca duo Neymar and Messi to be part of the best eleven.
The choice of the football governing body in Europe to select Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann as the top three best players in Europe without the inclusion of Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez is totally unfair to the Catalan club. FC Barcelona’s Vice President for Sports Jordi Mestre condemned UEFA selection.
The European governing body have released the three finalist for the best players in Europe and it’s surprising to see that neither Lionel Messi nor Luis Suarez made it to the top three. The three players chosen by UEFA are Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
The disciplinary committee of the European football governing body UEFA have once again penalized FC Barcelona to the sum of 150,000 euros for the reappearance of the Estelada flag in Camp Nuo during the 2015/2016 Champions League campaign. The popular Catalan Independence flag commonly known as Estelada was displayed by fans of the club in a Champions League game.
In November 2015, the European governing body UEFA published a comprehensive list of nominees for the UEFA team of the year 2015 on their official website. Today, the governing body published the final result and five Barca players made the UEFA team of the year 2015. Of all the 40 players nominated, only the best 11 players in the respective positions on the pitch were represented here.
FC Barcelona’s diplomatic fight against UEFA fine for the presence of the Catalonia flag in Camp Nuo was turned down today. The 40,000 euro fine was as a result of the Pro-Catalan independent chants and flag displayed in an ongoing Champions League match against Bayern Leverkusen.
The governing body of football in Europe ‘UEFA’ have shortlisted forty players in Europe for Team of the Year. UEFA have now open voting to all users of its official website until Tuesday 5 January 1:00pm CET to cast their vote here. Of all the forty players shortlisted, eight players from FC Barcelona made it to the list.
After the European governing body fined FC Barcelona for the display of Catalan flag in Camp Nuo on a Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen , two of its members have taken Uefa to court for fundamental breach of rights. It is said that even though the complainants are acting alone the club is aware of their action.
