With voting from fans from all over the world, Europe’s football governing body UEFA have come out with their best XI (eleven). The voting took place on the official website of UEFA and three Barcelona players couldn’t be left out of it.
World football governing body FIFA in conjunction with International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) have published the names of 55 players chosen for the best eleven of the year 2016. This selection of 55 players was voted by the players themselves.
After receiving the award of Best Catalan player 2015/2016 season which was organized by the Catalonia Federation, Gerard Pique was very frank and critical about his team. He talked on the Saturday’s game against Real Madrid.
According to some Catalan publication, Gerard Pique missed the Monday’s (yesterday’s) training session that prepares the Barcelona team for the Champions League encounter against Celtic. However, the Blaugranas are expected to train today in Celtic Park after their arrival in Glasgow.
The same day FIFA released their ten nominees of Puskas Award (Best Goal), Uefa announced their nominees of best eleven from last season. The 40 listed player for the nominee of Uefa best eleven includes five Barcelona players.
Next week Saturday, FC Barcelona will welcome Malaga for the Week 12 La Liga match which will kick off by 4:15 pm CET. Malaga is a less tougher opponent for Barca which should leave Luis Enrique less worried ahead of the next Lal Liga clash. But the reality is that Luis Enrique is more troubled than he should be because of the state of his defense lineup.
All FC Barcelona players were very pleased with yesterday’s victory against a team that has not lost or draw at home (Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium). Sevilla have now lost on their home ground against Barcelona thanks to Messi’s first goal and a wonderful assist to Suarez’ goal.
