Following the stalemate game between Barca and Atletico Madrid, Lionel Messi have being ruled out of play for about three weeks. The Argentine man acquired groin injury while playing for his club side on Wednesday.
In the Day 5 of the Spanish La Liga saw Real Madrid draw to Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu. After that followed FC Barcelona’s stalemate to Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nuo on Wednesday. After FC Barcelona had a 5–1 victory over Leganes in Butarque, Luis Enrique’s first team came together for a light and recovery training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Tito Vilanova on Sunday. All first team players were available for the workout. [VIDEO BELOW]
The Saturday victory saw FC Barcelona take important three points from their main rival at the top of the table. This is another come back from Barca in a 2–1 victory against Atletico de Madrid as Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both recorded the Barca goals of the match. Before the match was over, two Atletico Madrid players were sent off as a result of rough tackle of Messi and Suarez.
Luis Enrique calls his complete 18 man squad that will face Atletico de Madrid later today by 4:00 pm CET at the Camp Nuo. Jordi Alba (thigh) and Arda Turan (fever) who both missed out in the previous match have being given the green light by the medical team of the club to forge ahead into the match. Shortly after the Friday’s training, Luis Enrique showed up to speak to the press about the match against Atletico de Madrid on Saturday. The Barca coach thinks that just that match is not enough to decide the winner of the League. He also hinted that there is no hard feelings between him and the club regardless of the club not meeting his demand to do what he wanted in the January transfer window.
As the last two League champions meet on Saturday, FC Barcelona first team had their last workout session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Luis Enrique’s squad was complete in the Friday’s training session including Neymar who was absent in the previous training session.
As the game draws closer, Arda Turan is ready for the first time to play against his former team Atletico de Madrid in Camp Nuo on Saturday. The Turkish midfielder revealed to Barca TV his state of emotion in going to play against his former teammates: “Before the game and after the game, I’m going to be nervous. Its going to be a difficult game for us.”
After the Wednesday Copa del Rey quarter final victory in Camp Nuo against Athletic Club, FC Barcelona first team players resumes training ahead of league game against Atletico de Madrid. The Thursday’s training is a recovery workout after the 3–1 defeat of Athletic Club Bilbao. [Video Below]
The struggle for FIFA in combating the signing of underage players continues in full force. Barely two weeks ago, Barca ban by FIFA expired in which FC Barcelona suffered the penalty of not registering already signed player for 6 months. The same have being imposed on Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid and this time they will not register any player for the next two transfer window. That said, the two Madrid based clubs will not be sign players in next summer transfer market and winter market of 2016/2017 season.
