Former Barcelona right back Dani Alves spoke to the press about the absence of his former teammates. The Brazilian have being known for genuinely expressing his mind and in The Best gala night organized by FIFA was not different.
When asked by the press if he was surprised that none of Barcelona players attended the event, he said; “No and Yes. They should have come for the ceremony, only one day of missing training is not going to change much as regards to their preparation ahead of their Copa del Rey game. Besides, they’ve being preparing for so long.”
“I was hurt when everywhere I looked I saw Los Blancos and not even a single Blaugrana. If they had come, it wouldn’t have changed much, but you have to respect thei decision” said Dani Alves.
He spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo winning the best player award. “I have the player I would have wanted to win the award but of course my vote did not decide the winner. Ronaldo won the vote ahead of any other player and so you have to respect it.”
He talked about the five point clear difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona. “All hope is not yet lost for Barcelona. They still got chance.” On what he missed most in Catalonia, “I miss my former teammates and the kind of football we played in Barcelona.”
