Mundo Deportivo has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo will win the FIFA’s Best player of the year 2016. The Portuguese will be awarded Best player ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann respectively.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the vote casted in favour of Cristiano is just a little over than Messi’s unlike the Ballon d’Or organized by France Football.
Real Madrid who recently won the Club World Cup in Japan are already positive that their star man will win FIFA’s Best Player award in Zurich on January 9. The fact that they have received hint that Zinedine Zidane may will the best coach of 2016 will make Los Blacos to organize a trip to Switzerland.
It’s important to note that 50% of vote comes from coaches and captains of teams while the other 50% of vote comes from journalist and Internet users all over the world. The voting ended on November 22 and it’s clear the system did not favour Lionel Messi in this edition.
