Barcelona 4–0 M’gladbach: Arda Turan helps Blaugranas with easy win

arda-celebrateThe 6th round of the Cham­pi­ons League group stage game against Borus­sia Monchenglad­bach saw a goal from Mes­si and a hat-trick from Arda Turan. The game have final­ly end­ed the three straight draw at Camp Nou. Although Bar­ca have already qual­i­fied and there was no need dying need of the three points, but Luis Enrique have already empha­sised on win­ning the game in Tuesday’s pre-game con­fer­ence.

With Arda and Denis Suarez fill­ing in for sus­pend­ed Ney­mar and Rakitic respec­tive­ly while Andre Gomes took Ser­gio Busquet’s posi­tion as defen­sive mid­field­er. Luis Suarez was rest­ed for Alcac­er to play. Once again, Luis Enrique gave Aleix Vidal oppor­tu­ni­ty to prove him­self worth by play­ing him as right back. Luis Enrique allowed all the recent sign­ing of six play­er to start the game.

The first goal from Mes­si came after 15 min­utes of the game, Arda Turan who was on the left with the ball pulled the ball back to Mes­si and imme­di­ate­ly stroke a shot into the post. The Blau­granas had cre­at­ed sev­er­al chances to extend their lead in the game but they were not able to con­vert them.

After they resumed 2nd half, five min­utes lat­er Arda opened the scor­ing with a head­er while the sec­ond one was well place ball into the net after a deflect­ed cross fro Aleix Vidal. He sealed the goals after a fine square play from the far right and end­ed it with a well fin­ished ball.

A great save from Som­mer hin­dered Messi’s head­er from equal­ing Cris­tiano Ronaldo’s record of 11 goals in the Cham­pi­ons League group stage.

It was a good game for Arda which saw his first hat-trick in a Cham­pi­ons League game. The Turk once again proves his worth as an attack­er on the left wing. Also, Aleix Vidal and Denis Suarez have shown the coach that they deserve more time on the pitch.
