Enrique: Vermaelen was Changed as a Result of his Yellow Card

Coach EnriqueLuis Enrique showed his dissatisfaction of his team’s performance against Malaga, he first of all started out by stressing on what he had hinted in the pre game conference saying; “Malaga in recent times have the habit of making our game complicated.” He was dissatisfied with the game but also showed appreciation for the three points his squad secured after the poor performance.

On First Half: With so much inaccuracy from my team and threat from Malaga made the game complicated, it was surprising that we scored under two minutes after the kick off and from there it became disastrous for us. The first half wasn’t good for us but I think the second half was way better as we saw good accuracies from the team.

On Message at half time break: I can’t really say what I told them during the break, but there was a change. We took Vermaelen out of the game as a result of the yellow card he had. After the break, there was improvement and our ambition grew.

On Javier Gracia: Enrique was full of praise to Malaga coach saying Javier Gracia is known for creating problems for us, last year we drew with very few goal attempts and at Camp Nuo we won at a very costly stake. He has created a very strong opponent in Malaga which we are pleased to overcome. Javier Gracia is a top notch coach.

Luis Enrique concluded saying Despite winning the game with a very poor play away, it means a lot to us. It strengthens us.
