At the end of the stalemate game against Espanyol on Saturday, Sergi Roberto was seen limping out of the pitch. Although, he came in as a substitute for Ivan Rakitic and was part of the action of the game for about 20 minutes. A medical check up was carried out on him (Sergi Roberto) at the Cuitat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Sunday morning and it came out positive that the midfielder has suffered a thigh injury on his right leg.
The 23 year old will miss out on Wednesday clash against the same opponent for the first leg of the 1/8 final of the Copa del Rey. Sergi Roberto and Rafinha will be the only to players that will be unavailable for second derby clash of the season.
With the FIFA ban registration of new players being lifted from FC Barcelona, Arda Turan and Alexis Vidal will be available for the match. It will be their potential debut for Barca since their arrival in last year’s summer.
